What can my mentor do for me?

S2S Mentors have three main roles:

  1. To create activities and events that will give you the opportunity to meet other students and make the most of Trinity's thriving social scene.
  2. To answer any questions you have about College life (please don't ever think your question is too trivial, or too complicated for that matter - it's exactly what the mentors are there for!)
  3. To meet up with you for a one-to-one chat if there's anything you'd like to run past them*, or if you just want to make use of a good listening ear.

Mentors aren't experts in all things Trinity but you can rely on them to find out information if you need it, and to be available if there's anything you want to ask or discuss. If anything does come up that they're not trained to deal with, or that might require more expertise they'll be the first to let you know, and will support you in accessing more support whenever they can.

Remember that your mentors volunteered to do this because they wanted to help, so it's never intrusive to email them with a question or to request a meet-up.

*PLEASE NOTE - S2S Mentors are not Garda Vetted, and cannot meet on an individual basis with students under the age of 18.  Peer Supporters are fully vetted and available for anyone who would like to talk privately to another student.  Click here to talk to a Peer Supporter
