New to Trinity

  • A few days before the start of term go into the college and look around so that you have a general idea of where everything is and how to find your way around campus.

  • MEET YOUR MENTORS (it's really important!)

  • Get involved: join societies! From Fish Soc to Trampolining, the choices are endless.
  • Keep track of your studies, the work piles up quicker than you expect.
  • Don’t panic if you feel bogged down with course work, College provides services such as workshops to help.
  • Stay informed: this might sound silly but CHECK YOUR EMAILS, NOTICEBOARDS AND FACEBOOK DAILY. There's always something going on in Trinity.
  • Don’t be too hard on yourself if it all doesn't make sense straight away.
  • Ask other students for directions, lecturers will make allowances in the first few days to let you find the lecture halls.
  • Make sure you set up your internet correctly, and that all your online accounts are functioning properly.
  • Get an Ents card from the SU Office as soon as you can to get discounts on food and nights out.
  • Cobblestones are lethal in the snow!
  • Don't worry if you find the first few weeks of College hard to fit in. It is normal!
  • READ YOUR COURSE HANDBOOK. 90% of the answers to your questions are in there, so don't forget about it!
